- Prepare and analyze financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for accurate financial tracking.
- Track and reconcile inventory levels, including the valuation of stock on hand (wine, whisky, beer, vodka, tequila, etc.), and ensure proper accounting for goods received, sold, and returned.
- Monitor sales and revenue across different product categories, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for business growth.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including excise taxes specific to alcoholic beverages.
- Analyze production costs (e.g., raw materials, labor, distribution) and provide insights into cost control measures.
- Oversee accounts payable (suppliers and vendors) and accounts receivable (customers), ensuring accurate and timely payments and collections.
- Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts, working closely with senior management and department heads to ensure that financial goals are in line with company objectives.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring all financial processes are in accordance with established internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry-specific regulations, such as alcohol distribution laws, compliance with the FDA (if applicable), and any other local and international regulations governing the sale and production of alcoholic beverages.
- Utilize accounting software (such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics) to maintain accurate records, generate reports, and perform reconciliations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders regarding payment terms, financial discrepancies, and reporting requirements.
- Monitor and manage the company€™s cash flow, ensuring that there is adequate liquidity to cover operational costs, supplier payments, and business investments.
